Engines Stalled
I jumped on a dare
The water was freezing
Compared to the air
But still it was freeing
Maybe you care
And maybe you don't
You're so unaware
Of all you don't know
I skated through time
So full of ideals
But now what I find
Is what they will steal
Is all of me
They will take everything
I jumped into life
I wasn't expecting
A turbulent ride
With nothing protecting
An innocent soul
With hardening edges
And with no control
I hid from the masses
No elegant tale
To tell when I'm older
A massive fail
Trapped under the boulder of circumstance
Give me another chance
Maybe it's not over
Maybe it's not over now
I jumped when you called
My body was freezing
My engines were stalled
My drive wasn't feeding
But still I will care
Even when I don't
A fire under there
To give me the go
I skated through years
So tired of failing
With rational fears
I won't be prevailing
As quickly as the original plan
You've said a lot that I've tried to remember
I've said too much for one night
I learned what to do in these moments of doubt
I learned how to see when there's clouds all around
So clear me a path
I need to take off
And don't be sad
I will carry all the years with me
With me
